Aligarh Institute of Technology Holds Its Fifth Convocation with Great Splendor
Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Graces the Ceremony as Chief Guest

The fifth convocation of Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) was held with dignity and grandeur. On this occasion, more than 500 male and female students from eight different departments were awarded diplomas. Students securing first, second, and third positions with outstanding marks in various technologies were honored with gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively. A large number of distinguished guests and participants attended the ceremony.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an followed by Naat recitation. The convocation was presided over by Vice Principal Syed Rehan Ali.

Addressing the gathering, the Federal Minister for Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, stated that Pakistan was created with a clear purpose, but unfortunately, we have forgotten that purpose. Addressing the students, he said that the future of Pakistan rests in their hands. Education, skills, and modern knowledge are the keys to success. He emphasized that the time has come for unity to restore Pakistan to its rightful place among nations.

The Guest of Honor, Chairman Sindh Board of Technical Education, Mr. Musharraf Ali Rajput, highlighted the critical importance of technical education in the modern era and congratulated Aligarh Institute of Technology for consistently securing top positions at the provincial level each year.

Chairman of the Governing Body of Aligarh Institute of Technology and Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Mr. Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, addressed the students and remarked that Pakistan’s progress is directly linked to the promotion of technical education. He encouraged students to prepare themselves for future challenges, enhance their professional skills, and play an active role in the development and prosperity of the country.

Convener Aligarh Institute of Technology, Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazim, expressed gratitude to all participants and prayed for the bright future of the students. He stated that the institute’s remarkable success across Sindh is a result of the teachers’ dedication, high academic standards, and the students’ hard work and commitment.

Earlier, Principal Aligarh Institute of Technology, Shahid Jamil, while highlighting the institute’s outstanding performance, expressed pride that AIT not only secures provincial-level positions every year but also holds the unique distinction of being the only institution in Sindh to introduce a diploma in Artificial Intelligence.

Member Governing Body Aligarh Institute of Technology, Aslam Shah Khan, awarded gold medals to students for their exceptional performance in the Sindh Board of Technical Education examinations 2025. Biomedical students Alishba Mushtaq, Manahil Sharafat, and Sarah secured first, second, and third positions respectively across Sindh. In Software Technology, student Umm-e-Habiba secured first position, while Architecture student Syed Muhammad Abdul Rehman secured third position.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Chairman Governing Body Aligarh Institute of Technology and Chancellor Sir Syed University, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, presented souvenirs to the Chief Guest, Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Chairman Sindh Board of Technical Education, Musharraf Ali Rajput.

On this auspicious occasion, Aligarh Institute of Technology also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Principal Shahid Jamil in recognition of his exceptional and dedicated services.

Additionally, medals were awarded to 29 students of Aligarh Institute of Technology for outstanding academic performance.

The ceremony concluded magnificently with an impressive performance by AIT students, who presented their anthem “Aligarh” with passion, enthusiasm, and sincerity, winning the hearts of the audience. This was followed by a captivating Qawwali performance, which enthralled the attendees and brought the event to a memorable close in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Sir Syed University Professor Dr. Afzal Haq, Registrar Sir Syed University Commodore (R) Syed Sarfaraz Ali, Director Information Technology Dr. Abdul Moeed Khan, Chairman Department of Computer Science Dr. Kashif Sheikh, members of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association, representatives of electronic and social media, renowned academicians, city dignitaries, faculty members, and a large number of students.
