Students of Aligarh Institute of Technology delivered an exceptional performance at the Chemistry Festival “Innovation and Creativity 2026”, organised by the Department of Chemistry at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST). Demonstrating remarkable scientific insight, creativity, and entrepreneurial vision, the students earned distinguished recognition at the university level.
The festival was formally inaugurated under the chairmanship of the Registrar of Federal Urdu University, Professor Dr. Syed Inayat Ali Shah.
Under the leadership of Dr. Syeda Yasmeen Muzammil, Head of the Chemical Department at Aligarh Institute of Technology, along with Dr. Sumaira Noreen, second-year students Aziq Hasnain, Alina Zehra, and Ayesha presented a diverse range of innovative scientific and business-oriented projects. Their work covered areas such as food safety, hygiene, herbal remedies, healthy meals, home décor, home schooling, and stitching studios beautifully blending scientific innovation with practical application.
The event featured participation from several prominent universities, including Jinnah University for Women, Indus University, Sindh Madrsa tul Islam University, and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, among others.
Particular acclaim was received by Aligarh Institute student Alina Zehra for her project titled “Extraction of Dyes from Natural Products.” The research effectively presented scientific methods for extracting natural dyes from organic sources, earning widespread appreciation from participants and judges alike.
At the closing ceremony, during the distribution of certificates and awards, Alina Zehra and Ayesha from the Department of Chemical Sciences secured third position, bringing pride to their institution and further encouraging entrepreneurial and creative pursuits among young scholars.
Principal Aligarh Institute Shahid Jamil commended the students for their dedication and achievement, describing the success as a positive step toward a bright future and innovative entrepreneurship for the younger generation.
Convener Aligarh Institute Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazim also praised the students, emphasizing that such platforms play a vital role in polishing students’ abilities and preparing them to excel in practical, professional fields.
